PARENTAL RIGHTS

with 4 comments

Do you believe that the Maryland courts have now ruled “that the right of parents to control their children’s upbringing “is not absolute” and “must bend to the state’s duty to educate its citizens.”"  Read the article here.  At this point I would have to suggest that the people of Maryland withdraw their children from the public school system.  Homeshooling and private schools would be the only option for anyone who cares about the education of their children.

Do the public school systems have the right to indoctrinate our children?  What should the mission of the school systems be?  In a time when we have so many kids graduating from high school without being able to read, write, and do math on grade level shouldn’t the schools systems begin to refocus on the basics…reading, writing, and arithmetic.

Liberty Counsel founder Mat Staver says “state and local boards of education should be operating under dictates and parameters set up by parents — not undermining parents’ values, as is the case in Montgomery County [Maryland]. He argues that every state in the country should have statutory protections that recognize the role of parents in the education and well-being of their children.”  If only this were the case but it is a goal to be worked toward.  If you are in Maryland, you have a battle on your hands.  If you are anywhere else, the battle is coming…be prepared.

  1. Hmmm

Though utterly horrifying, not at all surprising.

The times are changing, and the New World Order is comin full blast.

I have already withdrawn my child from public school. She will NEVER go back. They would have to kill us first.

And that is likely an option for them.

    So be it.

  2. We have homeschooled in the past and may do so again. We re-evaluate each year. I do believe it is the best option.

  3. There is much talk about this issue, but it needs to become an issue. We need for canidates to speak up and DO something about it. We should make supporting parental rights the same marker of being with us as having a pro-life voting record. Where are our Republican leaders in at least bringing up parental rights legislation, bringing it into the forefront of conservative politics??
We homeschool our children. But so many are unable to. I feel for them. I feel for those at local schools where both the teachers and parents are Christian, but are tied by the NEA, AFT, and liberal brainwashing lobbyists who push their agendas by forcing our children to buy into their ideology. You have to wonder how weak they themselves see their ideology when they can not win through convincing educated adult citizens but must have those citizens indoctrinated first to win ANY amount of approval.
