Obama: “Sound Science” and Faith Not In Conflict

Here is Obama’s explanation as to why he is overturning the ban on federal funding of embryonic stem cell research.  Pay attention to his words.

This should come as no surprise to us because he has always supported murdering unborn babies.  What is shocking is how he places science above faith.  He has always claimed to be a person of faith but I don’t know what faith he refers to.  It certainly is not Christianity.  I think his faith is in his political ideals, not the God who created all that is.

Obama said,

In recent years, when it comes to stem cell research, rather than furthering discovery, our government has forced what I believe is a false choice between sound science and moral values. In this case, I believe the two are not inconsistent. As a person of faith, I believe we are called to care for each other and work to ease human suffering.

It all sounds good so far, right?  Well, I have a question for you.  Where do you think these new embryonic stem cells are going to come from?  That’s right…from embryos.  Our government, at the direction of our president, has just said that it is okay to create human beings for the sole purpose of using them as research material.  And our president says that there is no conflict between this “sound science” and a persons faith.  Once again, I must wonder what “faith” is he meaning.

In summary, Obama is basically saying that the ends justify the means.  He is saying that it is okay to create and destroy these “clumps of cells” for the greater good that can come out of it.  These humans beings are expendable in order to achieve his desired results.

Is this what we, as Christians, should believe?  If you are a Christian who supported/supports Obama, is this what you voted for?  Are you having second thoughts now?    YOU SHOULD BE!!

Fifteen Pro-Life Truths

Here is a good list of talking points for the next time you get into a discussion with a child sacrifice advocate.  They are written by John Piper and posted at Desiring God.

How To Stump A Pro-abortionist With One Question

For the last two days WordPress has listed this post as it Hawt Post on its home page.  For any true pro-life person the question posed is no trouble to answer.

In a spirit of fun and fairness, I want to share with you the one question you can use to stump a pro-child sacrifice pro-murder pro-abortionist every time.  The question is:

When does life begin?

That is it.  When you ask them this they will begin the verbal dancing as they try to avoid answering the question.  Any answer they give, other than at conception,  will be arbitrary and will leave them open to follow up questions which they don’t want to answer.  The most notable recent example is when Obama tried to answer the question at Rick Warren’s candidate forum held during the presidential election last fall.

If you have asked this question to those who support murdering unborn babies, share their responses in the comment section.  If not, don’t forget the question so that you can ask it the next time you get a chance.

———————UPDATED ADDED1/23/09—————————

It seems that many in the comments have been trying to make the point that life begins at birth.  We are told that “everyone” believes that way and that it is just “common sense“.  You should know that not everyone believes this.  In fact, our own laws concerning murder show this.  In our country today, if a pregnant woman is murdered the person committing the murder is charged with two murders, not one.  If the unborn baby were simply a “clump of cells” then there would be no basis for this.  So it seems that even our government, through our law-makers, recognize that life begins before birth.  To my knowledge no stage of pregnancy is mention in these laws so it would seem that our law-makers believe that life begins at conception.  Sadly, this laws seems to exempt mothers and abortion doctors.  We need to correct that.

SBC Resolution #8 – On Planned Parenthood

SBC Resolutions

8. On Planned Parenthood
June 2008

WHEREAS, Scripture speaks to the sanctity of human life in the womb (Psalm 139:13-16) and God’s abhorrence of those who murder the innocent (Proverbs 6:16-17; 24:11-12), which apply directly to Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion provider; and

WHEREAS, Planned Parenthood is the offspring of Margaret Sanger, an early advocate of eugenics or the weeding out of “undesirable” people; and

WHEREAS, Planned Parenthood markets its warped view of human intimacy and encourages promiscuity among underage girls through its Teenwire Web site; and

WHEREAS, Planned Parenthood profits from helping underage girls abort their pregnancies without notice to their parents; and

WHEREAS, Planned Parenthood has launched a massive campaign to mobilize voters this year, planning to raise at least $10 million to recruit people to lobby legislators and vote for candidates who support the Planned Parenthood agenda of unlimited abortion, sex outside of marriage, value-free sex education in public schools, and increased taxpayer subsidies for the organization; and

WHEREAS, Planned Parenthood is already aided by huge federal subsidies, with over 300 million of our tax dollars funding the deaths of nearly 300 thousand innocent pre-born babies every year; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the messengers to the Southern Baptist Convention meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana, June 10-11, 2008, decry the immoral actions of Planned Parenthood clinics across America; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we encourage the evaluation of candidates for elected office based on their affiliation with Planned Parenthood; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we call on both houses of the United States Congress to defund Planned Parenthood; and be it finally

RESOLVED, That we urge President George W. Bush to veto any budget requests that include funding for this merchant of family disintegration and death.

Planned Parenthood And “Obscene Profits”

“In April, the annual report for Planned Parenthood Federation of America revealed that the abortion giant had a total income of $1.02 billion—with reported profits of nearly $115 million. Taxpayers kick in more than $336 million worth of government grants and contracts at both the state and federal levels. That’s a third of Planned Parenthood’s budget. And what market-distorting results do we get for those government incentives? In 2006 alone: 289,750 abortions. Oil execs, tobacco execs, banking execs, pharmaceutical company execs and baseball players have all been hauled up before Congress for highly publicized whippings by crusading lawmakers. But the executives of Planned Parenthood have escaped government scrutiny and public accountability for their predatory behavior, dangerous medical practices, deception and deadly windfall… For whatever reason, Washington has turned a blind bipartisan eye to this bloody, government-funded business—and pro-life, limited-government conservatives in the Beltway have gone along with subsidizing it. ‘Obscene profits,’ indeed.” —Michelle Malkin

Where Does Your State Rank On Pro-Life Issues?

Americans United for Life have released a ranking (click here to view) of all 50 states in relation to pro-life issues.  Click here to see the criteria they used.

Where does your state rank?  My state (Tennessee) ranks only 29th.  I am very disappointed by that.  In reality though, it does not completely surprise me. Why?  The main reason is because the state House and state Senate have been controlled by democrats for decades.  As a result, they control what gets to become law and what does not.  And as we know, many democrats (especially elected democrats) tend to be pro-child sacrifice

Fred Thompson Endorsed By The National Right To Life Committee

For a campaign that seems to have been struggling for the last couple weeks this should be a much needed boost.  Click here to read the actual press release from the NRLC.  Click here to read Fred’s response to the endorsement.  And click here to read an interesting post entitled “What you should know about Fred’s NRLC endorsement (with highlights!!)” discussing the endorsement.

All in all, this is an endorsement all the candidates would have liked to have received but in reality only a couple of them really qualified.  Of the frontrunners, the records of Giuliani and Romney immediately disqualified them.  That only left Thompson, McCain, and Huckabee.  I am not sure of the records of McCain and Huckabee but being from Tennessee I do know about Thompson’s record.  I am not surprised that he received this endorsement.  He has exhibited exactly the right understanding and position on the abortion issue in his voting throughout his political career.  Hopefully now, the pro-life voters can get behind Thompson and propel him to win the nomination.

Ending Abortion

Source:  “Ending Abortion” posted at Arminian Today

This is a very meaningful post about one of the biggest issues we face today.  How do we end abortion?  The author gives 4 things the church can do to bring an end to this barbaric practice of child sacrifice.  I pray that we will do these things and that God will bless us and abortion can be stopped in our country and anywhere else that it is legal.
