Is the Doctrine of Election Unfair?

This is an interesting article (Pulpit Magazine » Blog Archive » Is the Doctrine of Election Unfair?).

MacArthur is indirectly addressing the issue of Double Predestination or the Doctrine of Reprobation.  He does not use either term in this brief article.  He says he is going to continue the discussion tomorrow.  It will be interesting to see how he deals with this issue.

I haven’t read the article, but I would like to answer the question:

No. Election is not unfair because if God were to be fair we would all be in Hell. I am greatful that He is not unfair, but has chosen to save some.

I agree with the previous comment; but my question is “Why did God bother creating us at all if He knew that some of us would have to go to hell?”
