Where’d All These Calvinists Come From? Parts 3 & 4

I just read the third and fourth posts in this series by Mark Dever.  Click here for part 3 and here for part 4.  Part 3 continues the British influence started in posts 1 & 2.  Dever credits The Banner of Truth Trust and its focus on reprinting out-of-print reformed classics during the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s as contributing the the resurgence or reformed theology we have seen in the recent past.

In part 4 Dever discusses the influence of D. James Kennedy and the outreach program he started – Evangelism Explosion.  Dever says that this program had a big impact on debunking the myth that Calvinism destroys evangelism within a church.

I don’t know about you but I am enjoying reading these posts for the history that is provided.  Understanding the past helps us to know how we got to where we are at and then how we need to proceed in the future to attain our goals.  Enjoy the posts.
