  1. Randal Burns says:

God has no beginning or end, the universe itself cannot contain Him. He is not a man that He should sin. And He says ” what! do you think I have become altogether like you? God is a spirit. It is only because your mind is at enmity with God that you try to bring Him down from His lofty highths, make Him a being and imprison Him with in book full of dead men’s letters. To call Him a being is to make an idol of Him.

    Randal,

It is not to make him and idol. He is God and this is a catechism. It’s purpose is to teach people his attributes. It does not deny his eternality. It simply teaches that nothing existed before God. If something did exist before God then God would not be God.
