Are The Angels Ours To Command?

I have been interacting with some on my blog who makes the point that the angels are ours to command. They have to obey us. The interaction is in the comment section of another (unrelated) post. I am unable to move the comments to this post so you will have to go to the other post to read them.
His argument was basically that God had given him a new revelation in a vision that Christians had this power. I asked for him to provide a citation from God’s Word detailing where we had this power and told him that any “new revelation” that we receive that contradicts or exceeds God’s Word is not from God and we should be wary of it.
Please read the exchange and tell me if you think his argument has any merit? Also, was my response sufficient? If not, what should I have included?

In regards to the individual you have been commenting with , you have done an admirable job keeping him accountable to the written word of God. That is the standard by which we can measure “deeper revelations.” Keep up the good work.
This passage is very fitting for the type of deceit these type of “teachers” bring:
The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. –2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

He seems vaguely unbalanced.

I had the same thought.
I did not noticed his name spelled two different ways on his blog. I guess I was a little too amazed at some of his claims and missed that.

Joseph Smith saw the Father and Jesus, too. I personally have no doubt that this guy has dealings with angels; it’s just that they’re fallen angels.

I would agree with you. The only explanation for “new revelations” that are not in agreement with the Bible is that they must come from Satan.
